Bristol-based band IOTA has returned with their new single “Hollow”, which is a story about “watching someone completely lose themselves on a daily basis.”
The track turns back the clock to classics of the genre from the 90s, with an anthemic garage rock crunch with a blistering bite to it. Rousing and passionate, it soars with a fighting spirit that feels authentic and true with traces of bands like Bully and Mannequin Pussy.
Speaking on the track the band adds:
The single shares the story of watching someone completely lose themselves on a daily basis, no feelings, no fight, no lust of love for life. It’s about watching them disappear and take you with them and you just want to feel alive again and live. A fight against depression and mental health problems, feeling like there is nothing you can do to stop them and doing everything in your will to pull the person out of it. But it makes you feel like you have lost yourself along the way.
