San Francisco-based indie rockers French Cassettes have recently returned with their new album, Benzene, which was released on June 7th via Tender Loving Empire.

One of the highlights of the album is it’s single “When You Know, You Know” a very tender-hearted blend of old-school folk-led quality, with a refined and pure songwriting style that has pop qualities when that used to be synonymous with quality for our grandparents.

Speaking on the track, the band’s Lorenzo Scott Huerta adds:

“I was listening to a lot of Bread and Barry White at the time, and this one just came out of that very quickly. I’d never paid more attention to what kind of pick I was using on my guitar; I just wanted it to have that feathery strum sound. I had just recently been helping a friend on their song and wrote what I thought was a really great melody. They didn’t want it so I used it on this one.”
