Oakland, California indie outfit Parallel are preparing the release of their new EP, Flooded, on July 10th, which will be released via Cherub Dream Records and Play Alone Records. Ahead of its release they’ve shared its lead single “Blister”, a song that “explores the generative and destructive capacities of desire.”
It’s a lush melancholic dream-laden atmospheric track with a haunted cinematic glow to it with a late-night soundscape that is sneakily catchy and feels reminiscent of the sort of tracks that we would fall in love with when we started this blog in 2008.
Or as they put it:
The song uses landscape imagery to get at the ways that experiences of loss and possibility can make you feel like a stranger in your own internal world.
