Draining Kiss is a darkwave synth project from solo musician Quinn Martin based in Gainesville Florida, who has recently released his new EP, Blood Is Thicker.
One of the highlights of the track is the title track, a blend of gothic minimal darkwave with elements of new wave. It’s a track that “explores the emotions that arise when dealing with moral, religious, and political conflicts with family.” There are blends of classics of the genre, with the likes of Depeche Mode, Joy Division, and Nine Inch Nails, with a bit of a modern twist that allows it to operate in a sonic world of its own in the vein of Cold Cave.
