Granite to Glass is the project of Joe Kohen, a New York-based singer-songwriter who has recently returned with his latest single, “Sirens (40°47’39.9″N, 73°57’23.5″W).”
t’s his first self-produced work, a song that builds with a haunted folk atmosphere with a gorgeous cello note, and slowly emerges as a sweeping widescreen anthem with a big cinematic swing. There are traces of bands like Annuals and Other Lives, with a hint of Fleet Foxes, combining into something that feels quite reminiscent of the sort of artful music that used to take these very blogs by storm in the mid-2000s.
