Conflict at Serenity Pools is a project featuring members from Venice Beach and Los Angeles, with various collaborations elsewhere.
Earlier this month they released their new EP, Lemon Fiction, which features tracks like the shimmering “Bosun.” It’s a track that blends elements of shoegaze, 90s slacker rock, and a bit of a dreamy presence that is equally parts playful, and equally harrowing with a strong emotional heft.
Speaking on the track, the band adds:
Bosun is the first single off of EP LEMON FICTION, which comes out in full May 8th. New territory for CASP, the EP was written primarily on acoustic guitar (to start) with an idea of exploring current feelings and themes in CASP’s life and projecting them onto somewhat fictional scenarios. Bosun makes use of these thematic points, rendering a story about wondering where someone else is, or where they themselves are, echoing both fiction and real feelings of escapism, longing, wondering and wandering.
