Brighton art-rock band Youth Sector have returned with their rousing new single “Here Comes The Fear”, which they dropped in April via Dance to The Radio.
The track revels in homage to some of the best of 80s synth-driven rock with its influences worn on its sleeves, and a big anthemic heft to it that features an utterly addictive chorus.
Speaking on the single, the band adds:
“‘Here Comes the Fear’ is about the very acute moment in which all your fears and anxieties bubble up to the fore at the same time – everything from that leaky sink, to an unpaid parking fine, to that article you read about the likelihood of actual armageddon – all fighting for equal importance right here and right this second. I’ve seen so many newspaper headlines reading something like, ‘2024: Our Most Dangerous Year Yet’ and some days it definitely feels like it… add that to the possibility of not making rent and you’ve got quite the cocktail.”
