Ames Harding is a four-piece band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who recently let go of their single “The Governor’s Dead.”
It’s described as a Carribean-inspired murder ballad, one that features a tropical set of arrangements with a retro-fitted style of vocals, instrumentation, and production, crafting something that sounds from a different time entirely, yet also very much for today’s ears.
Or as they put it:
“I wrote this song while living in Cuba and Chile, as a catchy and playful song that drew from the palette of music I was surrounded by. The content of the song alludes to tumultuous history of coups, revolutions, and assassinations that I was learning about at the time.” – Ames Harding
