Last month saw Irish singer-songwriter Lucy McWilliams release her debut EP, Third Second Chance.
“Mr Useless” is a vibrant slice of indie rock and pop that has a sun-soaked colorful atmosphere that brings the live instrumentation of indie rock and perfectly merges it with a sugary yet sharp pop structure that works to perfection.
Speaking on “Mr Useless”, she said:
“The song is quite self-explanatory… It’s the first time I enjoyed being angry with a situation. I think sometimes having rose tinted glasses on can actually be quite refreshing, even if it is a little deluded. But, once they’re off it’s funny to see how things snap into place. I guess this song is about seeing flaws in a situation that you hadn’t before, and it was exciting to write from that perspective. “
