Fleet Foxes’ classic “Mykonos” is a song that needs no introduction, and a song that I can imagine is an intimidating one to take on as a cover.
But that’s just exactly what London-based artist Honey Gentry did, transforming the song into something that she hopes can be enjoyed barefoot during the summer’s glow.
It’s a vibrant and soaring electronic pop reimaging of the sprawling tune that does what a good cover should and gives it a reinvention, while also maintaining its heart and DNA.
