Baula are a Swedish/Icelandic band who are gearing up for the release of their debut album, heavy heart, no tears, due out later this month.
Ahead of its release the band has recently let go of its shimmering single “santa fe”, described by the band as their most personal song to date. It’s one that confronts the painful truth that you are responsible for your downfall. The track harnesses the energy of dark-leaning shoegaze and dream pop with a psych-rock element bubbling on the surface.
Enjoy a listen to “santa fe” below, along with the previously shared single, “parasite”, one that harnesses a similar power and energy, with traces of a retro-fitted alt-country influence.
