Strawberry Generation is a dream pop band formed in Providence, Rhode Island that has recently returned with their single, “Iris (Eyelids).” It’s a story about a girl who was bullied in school and exacts revenge by becoming an influential DJ
It was written during the pandemic as part of a daily writing exercise with one rule per day. The rule for this one was to use a certain well-known chord progression.
“Iris (Eyelids)” captures the shimmering warmth and lush melancholic vibes of 90s jangle pop with a dreamy nature that blends the line between bands like Belle & Sebastian, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, and Alvvays.
