Swedish indie rock outfit Trails Pluto returned with their new EP, Plastic Flowers, on February 23rd. One of the highlights from the release is the EP’s title track and closing anthem.
It’s best described as a smooth and seductive psych groove, with elements of psych, funk, indie and more. It’s like a blend of Khruangbin, early Tame Impala, and Post Animal. You’ll get lost as you soar into the cosmos with a colorful sun-soaked spirit. Just when you think you have it figured out, it shifts gears and blossoms into a new sonic arena.
Speaking on the song, the band adds:
“Plastic Flowers” is the title track to our new EP. The song is a complex and colourful psych experience, and act as the grand finale of the EP. The song itself contains differentiated parts, from which we have crafted 4 stand alone tracks- This gives the listener a fulfilling sense of recognition when listening to the EP, since the previous tracks are embedded into “Plastic Flowers”. The song itself is reflecting on the paths you take in life, and the different parts represent stages you go through. This project is our most ambitious to date, with a more serious take on production.
