Chopper is the Copenhagen, Denmark-based project of Jonatan K. Magnussen. On Friday he released his new EP, Shock Pop Vol II, via Pink Cotton Candy Records.
One of the highlights of the EP is its single and opening track, “Living for the Night.” It’s a tack that pays homage to nightlife, capturing a late-night sinister yet seductive vibe, very much honing in an 80s quality. There’s a bit of a blend between the oddball pop of MGMT and the old-school revival of Foxygen.
