Sad Films is the alter-ego of Salfordian singer-songwriter Dan Lucas. He’s recently shared his second single “Dog Day”, a track that explores “the human condition in the modern internet age.”

It’s a song that taps into a classic 70’s singer-songwriter pop presence, with a commanding vocal performance and instrumentation that stirs up plenty of room for his eager vocals to roam. It feels like it’s from a different era entirely.

Speaking further on the single, they add: A modern meditation on unrequited love, ‘Dog Day’ is an up-tempo ballad that explores the desperate, and sometimes criminal, lengths people can resort to in order to communicate those three little words, ‘I love you’.
