CHAFT is the project of Norfolk, Massachusetts-based musician Derek Miller, who recently released his new EP, Now That’s What I Call CHAFT Volume 1.
“Secrets” is a blend of colorful funky indie rock with elements of classic rock that expands even into the vocal work and elements of bands like Steely Dan, just through a modern lens. He recorded all instruments, as well as mixed the song himself, truly a one-man band of sorts.
Then there is the closing track “Sun”, another 70’s rock throwback with traces of The Lemon Twigs and some sun-soaked vintage elements that soar to much great heights with tight instrumentation and equally charming vocals.
