Swedish indie duo Baula have returned with their new single “mercury in retrograde”, a frantic track about “alienation and extremism.”
The track conjures up a lush dreamy dark atmosphere with an eerie ethereal haunting presence, that blends elements of post-punk rock with the auro of bands like The Kills and Warpaint, it the command it has over you with a towering presence.
Speaking on the track, the band adds:
mercury in retrograde is a step towards something more rawwhere the pounding drums hit as hard as the lyrics themselves. ”The song dives into the psyche of a person so lonely and desperate for community that they are led into the jaws of extremism. Something that is equally frightening and sad.” the duo explain.
