YONAH is the project of 20-year-old rising singer-songwriter Yonah Nissim Taragin, who has recently shared his new single, “Old Man’s Machine.”
The track is a “heartfelt reflection on the complexities of returning home after a year-long hiatus studying music abroad.” It captures an old-school folk charm that has a pensive and reflective nature, one that sees YONAH put forward a song that feels like it came from an artist three times his age. It’s a gorgeous track with traces of alt-country with a vivid sense of cinematic wonderment and storytelling.
Speaking on the track, he adds:
“The song encapsulates the amalgamation of emotions that flood in when you return home after an extended absence,” says YONAH. “There’s a sense of nostalgia intertwined with the realization that you’ve changed, grown, and gathered new perspectives on life. ‘Old Man’s Machine’ embodies that bittersweet feeling of coming back to familiarity while also feeling like a different person.”
