The Children’s Hour is the trio of Josephine Foster, Andy Bar, David Pajo, who released their debut album, SOS JFK, in 2003.
We haven’t heard from them since then, but that has all changed since old tapes were found in the archives featuring their never-released sophomore album, Going Home, which Drag City imprint Sea Note will release on February 23rd.
They have since released the album’s lead single “Bright Lights”, a wonderful and charming slice of indie rock / folk that is an absolute tender and thoughtful delight. It feels like a warm blanket keeping you warm during a brutal winter night.
Discussing the first single, Josephine adds:
“’Bright Lights’ to me is an imagining of the final hours of one’s life, in the arms of our beloved, under the sky, just marveling at the heavens, and fearlessly staring into the sun, as we had never dared, fully merging with the light that will soon absorb us.”
