Southern California trio Rec Hall returned last month with their debut EP, Localism, released via Arista Records.
The track blends the worlds of shimmering indie rock with a smart pop sensibility that shines bright with a West Coast shimmer and a rather infectious chorus. A lot of it reminds of the early 2010s indie rock and pop crossover that began to trend upwards.
Speaking on the track, the band adds:
“If You Run is about the futility of running from your problems, and the damage caused by doing so. It’s a song we wrote out of frustration at our inability to gracefully and humbly deal with the problems we have caused or are enduring.”
