Berlin-based artist Trench Coast summons up a sound between “gloomy electronics and indietronica, wave and ambient”, as seen on their album Drinks, which was released last month.
“Packs” is a great starting point to get sucked into this world, with a hypnotic synth-wave style of production and score, along with groovy instrumentation and a lush vocal performance. Like a blend of Tycho, Bonobo, and Neon Indian, it pulls you fully into its sonic current and casts quite a spell.
