Olympia, Washington singer-songwriter Joy Autumn recently returned with her new EP, Rainy Sunday, which features tracks like the intimate “The Otherside”.
The track is a comforting presence of cozy folk rock that sounds like you’re being covered by the comforting presence of a blanket. There is a bit of Laura Marling in her sound, one that is well-orchestrated and delivered with the utmost precision.
Speaking on the track, Autumn adds:
“Autumn has always been my favorite season in the Northwest, because of its beauty, the falling leaves, the changing weather, and the chance to reflect and let go. ‘The Otherside’ to me is the perfect fall song, because it explores the beauty of letting go and moving forward after heartbreak.”
