Brooklyn-based synth-pop artist Ronnie Stone will return wtih his first new album in 9 years, Ride Again, which is out on February 2nd via Feeltrip Records.
The track revels in the glory of 80s synth pop and new wave, with a glorious vintage sound that captures the complete aesthetic of the genre. You can practically imagine the song playing in a montage in a scene in the Karate Kid.
Speaking to ”Riding in The Rain”, Stone says:
“Riding In The Rain is about loss and heartbreak, about feeling like an outsider in your own hometown, and the sense of feeling trapped as the world changes around you. As I was writing this song, I was thinking about movies such as Taxi Driver, Say Anything. There is a vivid section of Zen And The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance where the narrator describes riding his motorcycle straight into a torrential downpour. This imagery was on my mind when writing this song.”
