Geographer will return with his new album, A Mirror Brightly, which will be released on February 23rd via Nettwerk. The project of Mike Deni has shared the vibrant single “Everyone” ahead of its release.

The track features a colorful palette of electronic synths and a wonderous atmosphere, that is well paired with the operatic and emotive vocals that remind of some of Owen Pallet’s earlier releases.

Speaking on the record, he adds:

This is the first song I wrote for the new record, way back in 2020, after I started rolling out DAOITGOED. There’s always a moment of terror that inspiration will not strike again, and when I wrote the chorus of this song, I felt I could relax, because if nothing else came out of me, at least I had that. So many of my songs are about alienation and a feeling of otherness in the face of a human mass who at least pretends quite convincingly to belong to itself and to have received the proper and necessary instructions. I’ve wanted for so long to write a song about the sinew that does indeed bind us to each other, a song about the universalities of human experience. I was playing with a chord progression that I had looping, and I just started to sing, everyone (fill in the blank), and it was a very powerful experience, to think, what are the things that we all, not just most, but all of us, go through. It was an important subject for me to delve into.”
