Rotterdam’s Library Card will release their debut EP next year and have given us a taste of it with their great single “Cognitive Dissonance.”
The track blends mathy guitars with a post-punk delivery, channeling bands like Dry Cleaning and Shame with an expressive observational dry vocal delivery, but also a sneaky catchy set of hooks and guitar riffs.
Speaking on the track, the band adds:
“Existence itself is erratic and inconsistent, life cannot be lived in a flawless manner. We can try as hard as we want to be compassionate, empathetic and accepting of the things we fear but there will always be a part of us flirting with being selfish, jealous or vengeful. To accept this duality is to accept our own humanity.”
