MVI is the project of progressive acoustic guitar virtuoso Mark Vickness (Mark Vickness Interconnected), who this year released their new record, In The Rain Shadow. The album takes its inspiration from Vickness moving to the high desert (California’s Owens Valley) in late 2020 and the influence of its natural state of beauty.

“On The Cliffs of Mohr” is a standout cut from the album, one that was inspired by a long family hike along the Cliffs of Mohr on the west coast of Ireland.

It soars with traces of folk, classical, and traditional Irish music. You can just imagine this imaginative and airy cut being a lovely piece of score used in a film as characters explore a wide-open mountain range. It features many old-school elements but is revitalized in a fresh and inspired manner.
