Makeout Party is a wonderfully named New York-based band that makes music described as “schizo drum machine boss battle surf rock that makes you feel good.”
Based on the charming single “Nostalgia 1980” that they recently released, they deliver well on this promise.
There is a dreamy lo-fi hum to the track with a melancholic sun-soaked feeling to it that reminds us of the days when Wavves came out of nowhere and took the blogosphere by storm. With a runtime just shy of 90 seconds, it’s a song that gets to the point and delivers the goods, urging you to hit the repeat button.
