Book/Spirit is a five-piece Brooklyn-based outfit who are preparing for the release of their debut album which will be released in early 2024.
The band has given us a taste of it through their debut single “Meant To Be.” It’s an anthemic and chugging slice of indie rock with elements of punk and garage rock, with a bit of an early The Gaslight Anthem quality about it.
Discussing “Meant to Be” the band’s Michael Susa says:
“Directionally, it’s about fighting for someone who isn’t right for you, and everyone around you sees it. And yet continuing to rationalize it to yourself because of a desperate lust/attraction, even as they grow more distant and you aren’t even sure you know anything about who this person is anymore.”
