Washington, D.C.-based experimental pop band The North County recently returned with their new single “The Invisible Hand.”
It features a vibrant and complex blend of sounds, from the vocal delivery and harmonies of The Dirty Projectors to more electronic-led synth art rock elements that blend traces of 80s and 90s rock and pop into something totally of its own.
Speaking on the track, the band’s Andrew Grossman adds:
“For the first time in human history we have the collective resources to take care of every single person’s basic human needs. To withhold that for the sake of allowing the 1% to horde money, through a system rigged for themselves, should be criminal. This is generally what I was thinking about when I wrote this song. Plus, I wanted to make it slap.”
