“Honest” is the debut single from Canadian indie outfit gloomhush, who describe their sound as “ambient pop exploring love, longing, and the digital landscape.” It’s the first of a set of singles that they will share in the ensuing months.
On “Honest”, they tap into a female-fronted romantic and melancholic driven pop sound that has traces of Cigarettes After Sex. There is an introspective and dreamy nature to the song that taps into a raw emotional nature, while also making it sound expansive and atmospheric in the vein of Beach House.
