Canadian indie-rock trio Virgo Rising will return with their sophomore, Vampyre Year, on October 13 via House of Wonders Records. It saw the duo agree to new terms, where each bandmate had to have veto power on every decision surrounding their second EP.
Based on the EP’s lead single, “Nail Biter”, it seems to have done them wonders. The track is a majestic and beautiful slice of folk rock that carries itself wonderfully. There is a sense of power and wonder to the delivery of the vocals, perfectly paired with the sparse guitar work that reminds of some of the work of artists like Big Thief and Sufjan Stevens.
