PAWWS, the synth-pop project of UK-based musician Lucy Taylor, has returned with “Hear You Calling”, her first new single in a decade.

The track reveals in the glorious glossy nature of 80s music, aesthetics, and a romantic-leaning synth-pop sound that has a cinematic and dreamy feel to it. A song described as being about “80s nostalgia, high school prom, and blossoming romance.”

Speaking on the track, Taylor adds:

“Hear You Calling is a song for the hopeless romantic, still believing in the impossible. I started writing this track on a rainy day in London with my good friend and ex-band mate Daniel Lindegren. I wanted to create the same heartache I got after watching old 80s movies where the underdogs were the heroes. It was important to me to keep the lyrics sincere with a certain sad sense of naivety. I then took the demo to Dave Jenkins Jr who recorded live drums, bass and guitars to take the track to a whole new magical level”
