False Hope for the Savage is a Welsh instrumental post-rock collaboration between members of Samoans, Cut Ribbons and The Echo and the Always. Earlier this year they released their debut album, featuring tracks like standout “Motherless Brooklyn.”
The track reveals itself as a gorgeous mix of post-rock and indie rock instrumentation, going from big swelling guitar buildups to quiet almost ambient-like moments of calm. It calls to mind the likes of Explosions In The Sky and Sigur Ros. There’s a cinematic heft to it, that tells a story with the guidance of a single lyric.
You can stream “Motherless Brooklyn” below and hear the entire album and buy it at Bandcamp.
