Meltt are a band from Vancouver, British Columbia who craft music described as “alterna-psych for your daydreams.”

Last week they released their new album Eternal Embers via Nettwerk, featuring songs like the single “The Absent Sea.” It harnesses a distinct airy and vibrant atmosphere, combining Skying-era The Horrors with elements of Tame Impala. Dreamy and vibrant, while also capturing a distinctive mood and presence.

Speaking on the track, the band’s Ian Winkler adds:

“Existentialism definitely plays a big role. Some of Cormac McCarthy’s imagery informed my subconscious vomit on the page. There are these beautiful landscapes with something lurking under the veil of reality. Our destiny is the sun will expand and destroy the earth. I was in a dark time with my dad, and it was definitely expressed in the music.”
