Swiss Portrait, the Edinburgh-based project of Michael Kay Terence, returned this summer with his new album, The Crippling Pain of Happiness, released via Willow / Strat Track.
The album features lush and dreamy cuts such as the album’s lead single and highlight, “Always.” The track has traces embedded in classic 80s romantic new wave tracks from The Smiths, as well as contemporaries like Wild Nothing and The Drums. It packs a sincere and swift emotional blow, with all the melancholy that one expects from the genre.
