Swiss Banks is a post-punk trio from Austin, Texas who released their self-titled debut album over the summer.

A highlight from the record is “Big Idea”, a track that blends dark new wave and post punk arrangements and atmosphere with a bit of a dance element, all with a sad-twinged sense of melancholy. The sort of long lost classic 80s crooner you’d play during a late-night drinking session, trying to get over the one who got away.

Speaking on the track, they add:

This song was inspired originally from the drummer of the band, Joey Alves, playing the opening chord progression on the piano. It immediately struck singer/lyricst, Adam Buhrman, as something he was inspired to write too. What came out is a somewhat cryptic tale of a figure with a messianic complex who is looking for someone to save.
