Over the past few years, there’s been no artist more prolific than UK singer/songwriter, Luke De-Sciscio. The talent wordsmith returned this summer with yet another new album, the lovely, Beaufort East. His third of four new albums that he will release this year. Like I said, prolific.

Opening the album is the wonderful “The Girl With The Thorn In Her Side”, described by De-Sciscio as “the easy-going and Summery lead single”. It’s not only wonderful as a play on The Smiths classic, but there is a tender beauty to the track that is piercing.

Right after that is “Love I’m coming back” a song that gives us feelings of a summer gone too soon. Contemplative but ever-present, it feels as if he is singing directly within our own walls. Traces of Jeff Buckley are not an overstatement. The power is there.

The third standout from the album is “Rise Up Waking Dreamers”, a track that features vocals from Ella Clayton. The song was reportedly recorded in one evening, in one take, in Bath. Devastating and raw, it will break you quite simply into many pieces.

Find all three songs streaming below and the entire album is available to stream and buy at Bandcamp.
