Boston-based indie folk duo Tulip tap into a state of naturalism and sense of self on their single “Now You’re On Your Own.”
The sparse yet tender single captures a pure songwriting power, with a gorgeous vocal performance along with fitting arrangements and instrumentation that is deftly attuned to the natural state of the song, which also features sounds of rain that are actually from rain hitting the roof of their studio.
As the band further describe below:
This song is about navigating tough personal relationships and learning who you should keep by your side and who you should walk away from. Now you’re on your own is repeated throughout the song in both of joy of being able to let someone go but also sadness of also realizing you’re on your own too.
Fun fact: the rain sound is rain hitting the roof of our studio
