Louisville Kentucky-based trio Wombo returned with their EP, Slab, last month via Fire Talk Records. “Thread” is a highlight from the EP.
It’s a light yet ethereal atmospheric blend of indie folk and pop, with a haunted lead vocal performance from singer Sydney Chadwick. The track was originally meant to be a solo piece on piano, delivered into something still as intimate but with a much bigger innate scope.
Or as Chadwick puts it:
“Thread was originally just a little thing I use to play on piano. I showed Joel and Cameron one day when we were messing around at practice and they persuaded me to try and put some words to it and helped me turn it into a song we could play together as a band.”
