Meagre Martin is a Berlin-based indie music project founded by Sarah Martin, who originally hails from Boston. The band is now a trio who have tapped into something special on their latest single “All My Thoughts”, a song about the “pervasive feelings of grief and how we internalize it.”
The track has a steady presence that builds and builds with a sweltering indie rock presence and spirit that grows and grows near total cathartic release. There is a jangly raw guitar element that works perfectly with Martin’s ever-passionate vocals, all colliding into something rather hypnotic.
Speaking on the track, the band adds:
The song All My Thoughts is about the pervasive feelings of grief and how we internalize it. How we continue to reference grief and the ones we’ve lost for the entirety of our lives. It describes how grief can shape the way we move through the world after those people are no longer here to advise us. It talks about this afterlife connection and also the ultimate fear of mortality and failure.
