Spirit Award is Seattle-based singer/songwriter Daniel Lyon, who released his new album The Fear, on May 19th via Share It Music. We previously shared singles “Western Violence”, “Guilt And Shame” and “Pushing Forward” and today focus our energy on another album standout with “New Energy.”
The track harnesses a natural energy and grit with a propulsive energy and smokey presence. Blending his folk-based influence in a more gritty garage rock arena that has a slightly dark and sinister tone.
On the song the band’s Daniel Lyon says:
“The song is a wishful look into the future. Change or progress isn’t always good as we have seen throughout history. But I believe some things and minds in this world must change in order for us to have a better and more unified future. We can start by looking at ourselves and changing and challenging our patterns, behaviors and the way we treat others.”
