Liverpool art punk rockers Eyesore & The Jinx tap into something rather lively and observant on their track “Do What You Love,” which is a split single that also includes “An Ideas Man.”

The track tackles themes about the old idea of never working a day in your life if you actually enjoy a life, with witty sly lyricism that channels Yard Act and Shame, with playful and sharp post-punk guitar and a charming art rock nature of its own.

Or as the band puts it:

‘Do what you love’ is a song about the age-old bullshit phrase, “if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Having been adopted by companies of all sizes in recent years, this phrase has become the motto of late capitalism’s nadir, where our jobs continue to swallow our personal lives whole.
