Corvair is a Portland, Oregon-based husband + wife duo who will release their sophomore album, Bound to Be, on June 23rd, via Paper Wells and Where It’s At is Where You Are.

They recently let go of single “Shady Town”, a smart and assured power pop anthem that reminds of some of the earlier work of bands like The New Pornographers. Smartly crafted with charming vocals and hooks that are sneakily catchy and full of heart.

Singer Heather Larimer says of “Shady Town”:

“The Pacific Northwest brings you to your knees right about February, when you haven’t seen dry streets or sunlight for months. We wrote “Shady Town” deep in the winter when we were losing our minds and fantasizing about escaping. We’ve been on some major cross-country drives in our lives, so we just created a Dada collage of odd road trip details against a sleazy guitar riff.

Then there is the previously shared single “Right Hook”, which is a more slow-building anthem, but still delivers traces of 90s classic power pop and elements of Neko Case.
