Lady Apple Tree is the project of Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Haylie Hostetter who recently returned with their retro-fitting folk/pop tune, “Silver Hands.” It comes ahead of a debut EP, that will be released later in the year.
It coasts by with a lovely vintage charm, a song that they describe as a “Mamas & Papas meets Renaissance,” that tells a “coming of age story that a girl goes through in order to become a woman,” says Hostetter.” It has that 60s California pop sound that feels like the sort of songs our parents grew up and fell in love with.
