New York/Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sarah Gargano has returned with her brand new single “Self Diagnosis.”
The track captures the raw and honest sensibility of early 2000s indie rockers such as The Moldy Peaches, with a confessional nature that focuses on elements of mental health and taking a look at our own demons within.
A blend of catchy indie rock and pop that also packs a sweet emotional punch. Or as Gargano explains below:
It’s a very personal song that I wrote during COVID when there was a lot of time to reflect on mental illness and how that manifests in my own life. I wasn’t ever planning to record it, but when I connected with Callum Haynes in London last summer about recording one of my songs, this track stood out to him. We spent two long days in Callum’s studio in South London recording – I played all the guitar on it which I’m not used to doing, so that was cool for me and James Luxton did the drums! I also sampled some of Therapy Jeff’s Tik Toks for the background talking as I really like his approach to all things mental health relationship related!
