Northampton, Massachusetts-based indie rock shoegazers Baleen have won us over with their single, “Smokestack,” a track off their recently released self-titled EP, released via Strange Library Records.
The track sounds as though it could have been pulled from the best of the 90s, with slick tight guitar work with reverb and echoes of melancholy, that brings up feelings of long lost love and heartbreak, lush hazy vocals buried just the right amount beneath the glorious fuzz. It’s everything that you love about the genre distilled in its highest form.
