koleżanka is the duo of Phoenix-born and Brooklyn-based Kristina Moore and percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Ark Calkins. They returned earlier this year with their wonderfully titled new album, Alone with the Sound the Mind Makes.
It features tracks like one of the record’s standouts, “A Body.” It’s a free form folk offering with elements of chamber pop and even jazzy tones, reminding at times of early Grizzly Bear harmonies and well-tailored flourishes.
