London indie-folk quintet The Long Faces have recently returned with their new single, “Eisenhower’, a song that showcases their updated line-up as a band, featuring members from Ugly.
The artful rock sound is one that blends eccentric experimental art-folk with a bold and daring ascent into a sonic territory totally of its own. What starts as a descent into what seems like a typical foray into folk rock, soon blossoms into an expansive and truly unique sonic vision.
Fans of bands like Black Country, New Road should look no further for their new favorite song.
Speaking about the track, the band adds:
“‘Eisenhower’ is the right song at the right time for us as a band. We’re at a moment in our development where sonically, things are moving in a decidedly new direction, which we’re very excited about, whilst at the same time, we’re reflecting on how we got here: our coming of age both as a group, and as individuals. The song itself is a kind of meditation on all of these feelings. It’s about conflicting impulses, about the tension between nostalgic and progressive desires, and the possibilities that arise from confronting both at once.”
