Kris Ulrich is a singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Manitoba, who recently released his new album, Big in the USA.
One of the LP’s standouts is the lead single “Lucky” a track about “reflections on days gone by and hopes for the future.” It has a widescreen heartland quality that has elements of The War On Drugs, just with a synth-driven and slightly more pop-friendly arena to work with.
Speaking on the track, Ulrich details:
I was inspired by a movie my girlfriend and I had recently watched and the scenes from that movie were kind of playing on a reel in my head. I think it’s pretty apparent what movie it was but I like to leave it up to the audience to make their own conclusions.
