Atlanta’s Gringo Star will return with new album On and On and Gone on June 2nd, via My Anxious Mouth. We shared its lead single “Told Me Once Before” and they have since followed it up with “Stand and Turn Away.”

It turns back the clock to a classic country and folk performance that has a raw nature and simplicity that evokes so much power in the pure storytelling an delivery. You can envision it being well place in a future Wes Anderson film.

Speaking on the track, the band adds:

“Stand and Turn Away” was recorded, like almost all the album, starting with a live track of us all crammed together in a room with drums, percussion, piano, acoustic guitar, and then we added a few things. My wife Julia sings back up. I added a harmonica and an acoustic guitar solo to fill out a song about regret, longing, failing and keeping on keeping on.
